Sunday, November 30th, 2003This afternoon, we were kind of cleaning up house and Mr. Whitney found a bunch of Kleenexes by the stairs. Since neither he nor I had put them there, the finger pointed at one Mr. Otto von Bitlet.
“Otto,” Mr. Whitney asked. “Why did you put half a box of Kleenex over here?”
No response [...]
Christmastime is here. Crap.
Friday, November 28th, 2003So now I have to get into Christmas shopping mode. Great.
I have already gotten one of these for Mr. Whitney’s mother, and Mr. Whitney is making Lincoln Logs for Otto. Beyond that, I got nothin’. I suppose if I was particularly masochistic I could try to knit a sweater for [...]
My Black Friday
Friday, November 28th, 2003I went out late afternoon (about 5:30 or so) but didn’t get anything. I picked up a skirt at Marshall’s that was $22 (retail $99) but it didn’t really knock my socks off or anything so I put it back.
Mr. Whitney and I are going to a Bunco party tomorrow at his sister’s. [...]
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thursday, November 27th, 2003So, what am I thankful for?
- a husband who let me sleep until 11:30 this morning (bless you)
- a son who is healthy and happy and so f’in smart
- a relatively secure job at a place with nice people
- the roof over my head, the cars in my driveway, the medical insurance card in my [...]
He is NOT seeing the movie, though.
Thursday, November 27th, 2003When I picked Otto up from school today (a job usually performed by his father), he wanted to take the school’s copy of The Cat in the Hat with him. I told him that he couldn’t, but that we would stop at the library on the way home and see if they had it.
Well, [...]
Yes, he has a name other than “Mr. Whitney”
Wednesday, November 26th, 2003In case you were wondering.
Tuesday!
Tuesday, November 25th, 2003Otto this evening, using the stick of a toy flag to “write” on the coffee table: “I’m just doing homework.”
I am working on another sweater for him, this time with a cable stitch up the front. It’s hard, as you have to yank the yarn really tight against the needles. But it should [...]
MiniPop Hell
Sunday, November 23rd, 2003Quiz 1: 54 out of 95
Quiz 2: 61 out of however many there are.
Saturday
Saturday, November 22nd, 2003Relatively uneventful day. I had to take our bedspread to the laundromat, because it’s too big to do in our own washer/dryer. The washer I used broke in mid-cycle! Fortunately, the repairman showed up about five minutes after that happened, and he fixed one of the other broken washers (there were 4 [...]
Um…
Tuesday, November 18th, 2003Is it wrong me for me to think that Jeff (the guy in tonight’s Queer Eye) is *totally* a hottie now?
(One of the Fab 5 mentioned that he looks like David Bowie now. I was wondering if someone was going to say that.)

FYI
Tuesday, November 18th, 2003I am doing a little spring cleaning and moving around of stuff – The Movie Review Abattoir, which used to be at my Road Runner account, can now be found at http://www.worldwidewhitney.com/abattoir/reviewz.htm. Mark your browsers accordingly.
(Also, if there are any screwed up links, please let me know.)
Sigh.
Monday, November 17th, 2003You’d think that with varigated yarn, dye lot wouldn’t matter.
You’d think wrong.
Mr. Whitney says it looks like a Starfleet uniform.
No, not that stupid CBS show.
Monday, November 17th, 2003Something about Chuck Palahniuk novels make me want to read them in one sitting. I’m about 43 pages from the end of Survivor (hm, interesting, I just noticed the pages are numbered backwards) and will stop typing momentarily to finish it. It’s pretty good. Not as epic as Diary (which I really [...]
Sweater update
Sunday, November 16th, 2003Front and back are done, one shoulder seam is sewed. Collar is done, about 3/4 through the ribbing on it.
And I am never doing anything with this kind of yarn ever again.
Pictures and photos
Sunday, November 16th, 2003You asked for it (well, maybe not), but you got it.
A Day In The Whitney Life: In Photos!
(it’s either October 14th or October 21, I can’t remember which)
weekend
Sunday, November 16th, 2003Yesterday I had to go to Cingular to get my phone reprogrammed to the 585 area code. I went in while Mr. Whitney and Otto sat in the car.
Apparently while I was in the car, Otto started saying “Fits you best! Fits you best!” Mr. Whitney had no idea why [...]
Friday
Friday, November 14th, 2003Today was much better. I realized that my job is relatively secure; I’m the only person who knows how to process loans by the two lenders. (Of course, technically there’s one other person, but she’s got her own work to do. Right? RIGHT?!?!??!)
My attorney boss made a comment today about [...]
Heh.
Thursday, November 13th, 2003Whitney: Right about now…
Otto: The funk soul Otto!
Whitney: Check it out now…
Otto: The funk soul Otto!
As I said before, we’re on the 23rd floor of our building. Today was very windy; people were getting motion sickness, yours truly included. That, plus the state of the real estate market, made for a craptastic day.
Ah [...]
Okay, I am *not* going through this again.
Thursday, November 13th, 2003Well, I talked to the woman who hired me about the bizarre conversation yesterday.
Things have hit a brick wall in the residential lending department. It’s not a record slowing down on a player, it’s the needle getting yanked off the record. Yesterday, they let May go.
The litigation department has a spot [...]
